A grackle is a common blackbird found in the American south - seemingly monochromatic at first glance, but shimmering with subtle color at a second glance. This ubiquitous bird would serve as the mascot for Grackle Studio, a new small business offering custom hand-mixed oil paint for serious artists. Using the renowned Munsell scale, each paint color is matched to a standardized color chip, making it easy for artists to create their perfect palette. I was charged with designing the logo, website, packaging, and box design for this new, niche brand.
